Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr David Hermann is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in adult and paediatric sports injuries, particularly of the knee, shoulder and ankles.
Dr Hermann has particular interest in Arthroscopic surgery of shoulders (Instability, Rotator Cuff and other problems) and of knees (ACL and other ligament reconstructions, meniscal repair, etc). He has special experience in managing this type of problem in Children and Adolescents, reflecting his role as Director of Sports Medicine at the Women and Children’s Hospital, North Adelaide.
After completing medical training at the University of Adelaide in 1994, Dr Hermann obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Orthopaedic Surgery) in 2005. Following this he undertook a Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at the renowned Fowler Kennedy Clinic (Ontario, Canada), before returning to public and private practice in Adelaide.
He is a past Chairman of Orthopaedics SA and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
