Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr Peter Viiret is one of the founding doctors of Orthopaedics SA.
With over 35 years’ experience, he specialises in the treatment of adult and paediatric orthopaedic disorders, treating a range of conditions associated with knees, hips, hand, wrist, feet and shoulders. His breadth of experience enables him to identify a range of alternative treatments, selecting the most appropriate to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
Dr Viiret graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1971, and then undertook a further eight years of surgical training, including periods in Switzerland, Germany, Canada and Jamaica. He obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Canada in 1977 and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1978. He is a long-time member of both the Australian Orthopaedic Association and Australian Paediatric Orthopaedic Society.
For the convenience of patients, Dr Viiret consults and operates at locations across Adelaide. These include Memorial Hospital (North Adelaide), Western Hospital (Henley Beach), Southern Specialist Centre (Morphett Vale), Laren Vale Hospital (McLaren Vale), Noarlunga Health Services (Noarlunga Centre) and Flinders Private Hospital (Bedford Park). For 35 years, Dr Viiret was a Senior Visiting Consultant in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
