South Australia’s largest, private orthopaedic group, Orthopaedics SA, has grown to 22 surgeons, with the introduction of Dr James McLean. Dr McLean joins the practice upon his return from Canada, increasing the team of upper limb surgeons to eight.
“We are pleased to welcome James to the Group,” says Orthopaedics SA Chairman, David Hermann.
“We’re always focused on improving patient outcomes and, with James’s research and practical experience, he will quickly prove his value to both patients and our practice.”
Dr McLean has a particular interest in joint replacement and minimally-invasive arthroscopic (key-hole) surgery of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. He manages patient conditions associated with arthritis, trauma and sports injuries; and has a special interest in shoulder arthritis and rotator cuff disease.
In addition to consulting from three of Orthopaedics SA’s metropolitan locations, Dr McLean complements his private practice with clinics at the Queen Elizabeth and Royal Adelaide Hospitals; where he holds clinical and academic appointments through the University of Adelaide.
He is also an active Australian Defence Force Reservist, a devoted husband and father of two young boys.
